What is a SUP paddle and what is it used for?

You need a SUP paddle to propel your Stand Up Paddle Board forward on the water. SUP paddles are longer than traditional canoe paddles – typically about 10% longer than your own height. At the top of a SUP paddle is a specially shaped grip for better control, allowing you to apply more power while paddling.

You can also paddle on your knees using a shorter paddle, but it’s less comfortable.

Types of SUP Paddles
